Spinning fake drunkenness

Ok, so I am very, very dizzy right now… We’re filming a drunk scene, and (not my proudest moment here, people) I have done some “creative spinning” to get my equilibrium messed up. I could fake it, but this way was pretty fun and gave me an actual physical condition to fight against. Also made my eyes red (rubbed them), took my contacts out– again, something to work against that is a -real- stimulus. Not normally so, uhm… yeah. Desperate times, people.
“Nocturnal” on set: Part 1

Okay, so this is it! We’re up and filming tonight from 9pm to 9am. I’ll need coffee…
The first scene that’s up is between Adolfo (me) and Rufus, the janitor.
My office setup is great, very “cubicle dweller.” We’re doing wilds of the room audio first (including a vaccuum) which is different than I’m used to…
I’ll post more at my next break. Don’t forget to check me out on Twitter at “jefholbrook.”

So, we ran through the scenes a few times last night. This is my first shoot on a soundstage (always shot on location before), so seeing how that was going to go was interesting. The shoot is so late at night! We go from 9pm to 9am both days, so I’ll
Be sleeping in tomorrow to make sure I can get through. Also, I don’t want to look “cracked out,” as the kids say. Very cool cast and crew; I’m looking forward to the shoot.

Nocturnal begins filming this week

Doing another movie! I’m playing the lead again, this time my character works at a suicide watch hotline that scores it’s success with patients on a win/loss board… I even gives a “thumbs down” over my cubicle wall when I lose one! My fourth film so far, and the first one I’ve done shot entirely on a soundstage… the rest have been shot on location.
The script reminds me a little of Office Space. My guy goes through an event that changes his perception of life and breaks him out of his dead-end (ha!) job. The film should screen in October, so I can’t wait!
Also, some more big announcements! I’ve just booked a national tour! I will be touring Greater Tuna and A Tuna Christmas simultaneously from November 2008 through May of 2009. I’ll post a tour schedule once things get going, for anyone interested.
On the horizon for me right off: Winnie the Pooh at the Springer in October, where I will be playing Owl. After that, I’ve got a fun part in Father of the Bride, in addition to teaching an Acting class with Adam Archer on Saturdays in October.
Lots going on! After this my future updates will be shorter, and more specific. I know no one likes to read long posts, so thanks if you got this far!
See you at the show,
-Jef
